Shooting Skills Development — Whether you’re starting from scratch or sharpening advanced tactics, Lyceum’s instructors will meet you where you are and guide you through any skill-development cycle you choose. Our trainers understand what it’s like to be a student — the best teachers keep learning — and they continually refine their craft so they can teach yours more effectively. With years of focused practice and real-world coaching experience, Lyceum staff are committed to building your accuracy, speed, and confidence so you become a proficient, responsible defender.

The Skills Development session includes 1 hour of range time and includes ammunition and targets as well as specific assessment of shooting stance, grip, trigger actuation, and folluw up shots. During the skills development session you can expect to become comfortable presenting and firing from the low- and high-ready positions and reloading from magazine lockback

Draw from concealment

Drawing from concealment is a high-risk, high-skill task that demands deliberate practice and strict safety discipline. At Lyceum we teach safe, repeatable mechanics for holster selection, presentation, muzzle discipline, and retention — always emphasizing legal considerations and when drawing is or isn’t justified. Practice under expert supervision builds muscle memory while minimizing risk, so you’re prepared to act safely and effectively if ever required.

Proficiency drills

Regular live-fire practice is essential to maintain accuracy, recoil control, and split-second decision-making under stress. At Lyceum we run focused drills that build muscle memory, reveal gaps in technique, and reinforce safe range habits—so your judgment and fundamentals stay reliable when it matters most.

Threat and Situation Assessment

Staying safe begins with awareness. Lyceum students can refine their decision-making and observation skills through interactive scenario training with our simulation partners. These realistic exercises sharpen situational awareness, threat recognition, and judgment under pressure—so you can spot danger early and respond with clarity and confidence.
