Lyceum’s engaging, high-quality initial security guard course is approved by the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions (MPCTC). Our discussion-based format keeps students actively involved, ensuring real understanding of legal authority, professional conduct, and situational awareness. With experienced instructors and a focus on practical application, this course builds the confidence and competence every professional security officer needs to succeed. The course requires a passing score of 70%, which includes both a 50-question final examination and regular course participation in multiple scenario-based encounters.

Our initial SG training course includes application support for candidates in possession of all necessary application materials. So if you have all your application materials on hand at the time you pass the final exam, we will guide you through your application submission process.
